Hello all my Expeditionary Designated Marksman (EDM’s) and Gunner Mate’s! I would like to talk about some of the weapons I carried on my last deployment. Please leave a comment and tell me what you carried.
The M4A1 Rifle is a lightweight, air cooled, gas operated, magazine fed, shoulder fired weapon designed for either automatic or semi-automatic fire, through the use of a selector lever. The M4A1 fires a NATO round caliber 5.56mm ball ammo with full metal jacket.
M4A1 is a variant of the basic M4 carbine initially intended for special operations use. The M4A1 can be found in use by every branch in the U.S. military including Special Operations Units, which include the Delta Force, U.S. Navy SEALs, the U.S. Marine Corps’ Radio Reconnaissance Platoons, and Force Reconnaissance companies. Okay everyone! Now let me here from you! What you carry? Until next time, stay frosty.
Love the picture of the Herc tacking off. I see the pilot making a hard left turn just after rotation with the gear still hanging to perform the ceremonial flyby. Once I made a hardcore, badass Blackwater dude dive to the ground when I flew over his head at 42 feet and 320 knots. That is tactical flying at its best and it is the only part of flying the Herc that I miss. Eight years later, the very thought scares the piss out of me when I think of all the very low level tactical flying that we did on a daily basis.
I bet you see the two forward air controllers deep in Indian country standing tall in anticipation of having the four fans of freedom flying blowing that dude’s hat off his skull. There are no words to describe how much admiration I have for men like you and them. I love everything that you write by the way, I thank you for your service and your willingness to share it with the world
Our weapon of choice was the M-9 and I am so happy that we never had to pull them out of the holster because if you had to fire a shot in anger, you better save one for yourself because the bad guys were going to be really pissed when they got to you.
I was thinking that you would have mentioned the knife that you used to carry too. I remember a post about it.
