Air Rifle for Training in the field – from Pyramyd Air

DSC_0512If you are looking for the best alternative Force on Force then you need to READ this review!

Can you believe this!  We are out in the desert and the last time I checked my Kestel Weather station, it showed the temp at 103 degrees.  That is not the worst of it! Being covered in burlap, weeds I am now what the Military calls “skull crawling” in the dirt!  See, I was crawling low in the weeds so no one would be able to see me in this 12 inch tall weeds.  I am in my ghillies suit inching along with a rifle.  Slowly I go, until I reach my intended preset destination. Yes in civilian terms – getting ready to shoot.DSC_0514

Finally after what seemed to be hours, my spotter and I reached our spot next to this bush.  Slowly I reached up towards my muzzle, grabbing one by one of the legs on the bi-pod pulling them down and locking them into position.  Knowing in just a few minutes I would be taking my shot.  Still moving slow, trying not to move the brush around me as I set the rifle into position.  At the same time I was getting everything set, my spotter laid right next to me setting up what he needed to do.  Both of us took at least 5 minutes to finally come to almost a complete stand still and finish setting up.  I DSC_0517position the rifle into my shoulder pocket as I was readying my weapon to fire downrange. Laying my right cheek down on an old cut up piece of yoga mat that was taped to the butt stock of the rifle.  This allowed me to have perfect sight picture because of the right height for my head.
Looking through the scope now, I could see my intended target downrange as I adjusted my scope to allow for the wind, humidity, distance and everything else that comes with my job.  Finally I whisper numbers, distance and calculations to my spotter and he confirms everything I just said to him.  Now, all I have to do is take my time and depress the trigger to the rear and make sure I do the correct follow through.  Up and down my chest goes from touching the ground as I wait for myDSC_0521 shot.  Taking the slack out of the trigger, by pulling it to the rear.  Finally within my breaths I find the perfect time to ease the trigger as the rifle explodes, feeling no recoil, I came back up on target quick putting the target back into my sight.  Knowing it was a great shot as my spotter confirms it, I reload the weapon and take a few more shots until the instructor behind me yells, “Cease fire, the range is now cold.”  Standing up from where I was laying the instructor tells me that all 7 of my body mechanics looked great and to change out with another shooter.

Looking down at this rifle, knowing that it feels good to practice all the skills I need to do to master the skills I need and to do this with an Air Rifle!  That’s right, what better way to train then with a rifle that has the weight, feel and mechanics as the real deal, but save the cost for training.  You may be thinking, why an Air Rifle?  I would be to, but have you seen the  “Black Ops Tactical Sniper Gas-Piston Air Rifle?”  This rifle feels like the real weapon! Plus gives you the denifit of praticing your other skill, like crawling, hualing and your body.

See Pyramyd Air knows what it takes to play with the big dogs!  Listen to what they have to say about the Black Ops Tactical Sniper Air Rifle:

The manufacturer claims this gun delivers .20-inch groups (center-to-center) at 10 meters.

This is a breakbarrel air rifle, but the manufacturer has installed a bolt to give this air gun a more authentic tactical look. The bolt is non-functional.

If you’re into tactical-looking airguns, this is one of the most realistic ones we’ve seen.

Because most tactical airguns made these days are BB repeaters, that makes the Black Ops Tactical Sniper rifle very special. Instead of steel BBs, you’re going to shoot lead pellets. That means you should get some pretty decent accuracy from the rifled barrel. Just like those BB guns, this air rifle has an adjustable comb to customize it to your needs and size. The adjustable bipod is attached to the forearm so there’s nothing to clamp on the barrel and no awkward adapters to make it fit. And the legs go up and down to further adapt this air rifle to your needs.
