TRIDENT AT from SOG

Are you a SOG fan?  Do you want a solid pocket knife?  Then you need to check out this knife!  You will never leave home without it.

One of the best decisions I made whenever I deployed was to take with me a SOG knife.  SOG has that certain feel to it.  If you have ever picked up one then you would know.

Recently SOG sent me out their new Trident AT Tactical folding knife.  If your a fan of the Trident series as I am, then you will love this one.

The AT is slightly bigger than their normal Trident tactical folder.  As for the blade, the cryo-treating of the blade made the titanium nitride finish awesome to look at.

When you deploy from either side of the handle with your thumb, the blade quickly opens as it is assisted.  The blade locks open with the XR lock system.  One of the newest features in the Trident series is by activating the safety on the back of the handle, you can ensure that the blade will not open when and if you would like to use the rescue feature.  The cut away – line or seatbelt cutter.

Unlike the other Trident Knives, the clip can be moved to either side of the knife.  That way it can accommodate to whomever is right- or left-handed draw. They kept the loop at the end of the handle to attach a lanyard.  Along with the skull crusher.

The blade is 3.7 inches, with a total length open is 9.03 inches. Looking at the rough texture handle, you can see it makes it easy to grip.  The handle is of made of glass-reinforced nylon and weighs about 5.15 ounces.

My thoughts –

Gripping the handle and deploying the blade, I was shocked to feel how hard the blade slammed open. I felt that if I were not holding it strong enough, it would have jerked out of my hand.  HAHAHA.  SOG still kept some of the other features like, the skull crusher, window punch.  As SOG would say, “This knife was made for a purpose.”  That purpose is to go to war!  With a reasonable price you really need to get this one to carry.  Until next time!
